Gerber Motorsport was founded by Walter Gerber in 1993. Walter started the company as a consulting firm for customers and clients that needed professional racing and Porsche management services.

In 2001, Walter made a major change to his business model when he decided to move Gerber Motorsport into its current location at 4021 22nd Avenue West, next to Fishermens Terminal at the foot of Magnolia. Walter believed that there was a need for a professional, full-service Porsche repair and tuning facility in the Seattle area. He set out to fill that need by opening our shop pictured at right. Walter wanted to create a service repair facility that would cater to the needs of all Porsche owners and enthusiasts, no matter what type of Porsche they drove.

During that time, Walter has also been managing the racing efforts of John Goodman, a local real estate developer. He has helped John reach several goals and milestones, including a series win in the 2006 Shell Ferrari Challenge, consecutive SOVREN big-bore titles in 2003 and 2004, and several appearances at the Historic Le Mans in France, scoring a team win during the 2008 event.
